2008 TESOL Training Course
In an
effort to improve the quality of foreign ESL teachers in
China,
we offer the following program for any interested teachers
again in 2008.

Certificate IV
in Teaching English to Speakers of
Other Languages (TESOL)
The
overall intention of this course is to prepare participants
for the task of teaching English to people whose native
language is not English.
Those enrolling
in the Course need no previous teaching experience. However,
those who do will need to either have a tertiary qualification, such
as a degree, in any
other discipline or be willing to start as a novice teacher
and work while you learn.
The course is a
part of an Annual Summer Camp where teachers will be trained
while assisting real students improve their English skills
in a camp environment.
Trainee
teachers will neither be charged to participate nor will
they be paid but the outcomes will include:

Course Content
Student teachers will be trained in a range of areas related to
teaching English including:

Analysing how
we communicate in English

An
introduction to Grammar

Practical
aspects of teaching in a classroom

Lesson
planning and delivery

Key aspects
of teaching another language

Cultural
considerations for teaching English in China
-
The four macro-skills: reading,
writing, listening and speaking

| TESOL
Certificate Course Package
The package is
all-inclusive at no cost except your airfare, entry visa and
spending money. We will provide training and all inclusive live-in accommodation
and touring. See details in conditions

course commencing July 2008 in Nanjing
- Delivered by
native English-speaking TESOL trainers
- Small classes
capped at 20 TESOL trainees
- All materials
are supplied to TESOL trainees

| Who should
apply ?
This course is open to
the following people:
- You must a be
native English speaker with citizenship of the USA,
Canada, the UK, Australia, South Africa or New Zealand. Sorry,
but there are
no
exceptions.
- People
wishing to teach in China who do not have a TESOL qualification
but have a tertiary qualification such as a diploma or degree.
You do not need teaching experience.
- People who do
not have any formal qualifications but who can demonstrate a
desire to learn and teach.
- ESL teachers
in China requiring TESOL certification.
- Gap year
students.

| Conditions of
the Course
Please read the
following conditions carefully.
- Travel costs
to Nanjing
- You must
pay your way to the course. If you are outside of China then
we can advise you on airfare shortcuts and provide visa
assistance.
- If you take
up a job placement with us then your travel costs will be
reimbursed as a part of your contract. Half will be returned
after six months and the balance at the end.
- If you are
in China then you must show that you have a valid visa and pay
your own costs to Nanjing.
- Course Fees
and Inclusions
- The cost of
the course is only RMB 1,000 (approximately US$125.00)
registration fee.
- All course
materials (books, etc) and school visits, sight-seeing trips and meals are included.
- The
accommodation package is free in a twin share room.
- Pre-payment of the course registration fee can be
made by direct deposit. Please find the details of the
various currency processes

- Job
Placements
- All
registered students will be interviewed by Jiangsu schools and colleges
during the course.
- Graduating
students will be offered job placements on the condition that
they meet the schools' criteria.
- Student
teachers will have the opportunity to visit, meet and teach
Chinese students during the course and to gauge teaching and
living conditions.
